I have slept with women who were 18 when I was over 40. My current primary girlfriend is almost 23 and we have been together since shortly after she turned 20. Her dad is a little older than I am, but I am older than her mom.
The average age on first instance of women I have slept with is 23 and that hasn't changed since I was 25. (It takes quite a few 18 and 19 year olds to make up for one 32 year old).
It isn't anyone's business whom one chooses to have sex with as long as they are both (or all) at least 18.
If you don't like older men now, fine. That is your preference and I respect that as much as I have my own preference.
The young women I date tend to have a few things in common. They have all been more mature for their age and felt they are more comfortable with older people than people their own age. They appreciate the experience and benefits of being with older men (including in bed). They think boys their age are immature and are turned off by them. If these characteristics do not sound like you, then fine. Just don't look down on other people for having other preferences. Some people like broccoli, some don't.
It's not right. She's too young, they know nothing at that age, they aren't old enough or experienced in life to know what they are doing. They (both) may think it's right.
It may be the girl though wants that... it's a fast path... maybe.

But... it is "legal". Imagine having an 18yr old daughter and her 49 year old boyfriend shows up... ugh.. that be tough on parent.
It's wrong, very wrong. Especially for the younger person (guy or girl) but a lot of these people have either been taken advantage of themselves by someone older when they were in their teens or they are incredibly entitled & have some kind of mental problem/issue (legitimately) & actually *can't* understand that there's anything wrong with this. Just that they want it, therefore, they should have it. It doesn't matter if the 18 year is still basically a child & incapable of understand an adult relationship yet or that it could really mess them up, it's basically physical greed. They could go without but want to put themselves first, sleep with the teen then leave her to with the fall out a year or two later if they even last that long.
It's according to who the forty and 18 year old are. Do they have anything in common, or is this just a sex or money thing? I suppose the teen could be wowed by the man of the world status and money of the 40 year old and the teen is smokin' hot so he likes that. But does it go beyond that? If it's just superficial stuff, it'll fizzle, most likely. If there's a deeper connection, that's a better scenario. It's a big age gap. But a few people do it.

I suppose it's not wrong if the younger one is withing the age of consent, but it somehow feels wrong to me also. My first ex got engaged to a guy 13 years older than her this year and I felt disqusted. Often I also see about young men dating grannies (for money obv) because they love them, and it feels disquating also. Dunno what to say.
It's legal, so it's ok by the law. Whether or not it is OK by your own standards of decency and appropriate behaviour is subjective, there will be no particular consensus and so there is little point in the debate. It's like asking if it's ok to smoke.

No. Even at age 18, people do not have the emotional maturity to handle such a relationship. That's why you begin slow- with people close to your own age. You learn at your own pace. A 40 year old already has "bad habits" when it comes to relationships. If he is still single and trying to date girls this age (yes, I said girls- not women) then he has a big problem on his end. They are both adults and can make their own life decisions. While a lot of young women are just too anoying to want to deal with, I don’t agree with your analysis. A lot of guys get married around 30, so maybe 50 is more in line with being her father’s age for a first child and maybe 60 for last child.
Personally, I think It's a bit... wrong. But it's all about perspectives. What would you say if it were a 40 year old woman (Caroline Flack) and an 18 year old boy (Harry Styles), does that make you feel as sick? It doesn't seem as bad for me when I think of it like that, which means we are 'biased' in our thinking. But biased or not - I still agree with you and think it's a bit wrong!
It is okay if they are with her for a relationship and actually share similar morals, life goals, and some interests (not just sex), and if they don't have kids around her age. They also need to be in good health/exercise so they can still do things together in the future. If they have kids around her age or are just after sex then it isn't okay.
