Last night, I was reflecting on my relationship. I've been with my boyfriend for a long time and he has put up with so much. I'm a handful and difficult to love but he has always been there for me. We had A LOT of problems but in the end we always found our way back into each other's life.
He's my first boyfriend and we're going to break up next year, when I'll be going away but we decided to keep in touch. We're trying to make things as good as they can be before we part ways.
I ended up writing a love letter. This morning, when I woke up, I read it again. By that time, the hopeless romantic in me had died and the practical me thought it is cringey. It's just not very me to do something like that and now I don't know if I should give it to him.
It's been such a long time now that even if he finds it ridiculous, he won't leave or form opinions on me based on that. But still, if I don't give it to him I'd have hidden my feelings and if I do give it to him I'll kinda be embarassed in my mind.
We're meeting up in like a month so I have a lot of time to think.
Guys, how would you feel if your girlfriend wrote you a love letter?
Beautiful writing. Give it to him. Nothing better than being friends with someone you love. My first girlfriend and i are still friends. We still love each other. That won't change but we understand we are also just friends. You need to this for your heart. If he feels the same way he needs to know this. *hugs* good luck. 😀
I've always gotten weird love letters they always have to mention me stretching them out and whatever either way I felt loved. My love letters to girls when I was in school were always cheesey and cliche' looking back I can see why they said no.😂😂😂
He's definitely thinks its sweet, but maybe tone down the "I love you" part a bit if you think it might be too cringe and if your relationship was not very intimate (emotionally usually). But I think it's awesome and if he feels/felt the same way for you, he will treasure it forever. Believe me. Hope this helps!
R. May I call you that? Call me old school, but I love to get a handwritten letter from the woman I'm into. I think it shows an incredible amount of compassion for whomever you are writing to. It's kinda hard to explain but it's so much more intimate than texting, especially when you put perfume that you wear on it, but to me it shows you care enough about the person that you put your heart and soul on that piece of paper. I have letters from girls that were either crushing on me or even girlfriends... From back in my early teens until probably around my mid 20's. The Bottom line, I believe that it's one of the most romantic and meaningful way to express yourself to the person who you're in love with or even just have a crush on... I still have many many of them and I keep them in the safest place I can think of, a lockbox in the bank...

Tbh I do find it kinda cringey how long it is and the posh special writing you done for him, It’s abit too over kill, he might jus think aw “slightly cute, but pretty cringey, il jus through it in the bin”
Personally I think you should re write it, jus make it shorter and instead of trying to pull a load of bullshit out your ass like you see in those fairytale love stories, Jus make it short and straight to the point, Jus tell him how you feel about him and tell him that you love him, in your everyday average handwriting
Then instead of making him cringe it will jus warm his heart instead and think “awww”

I would be grateful and pleased. It means, she cares. But I would change the sentence " of all the guys i have met..." It has double meaning. Everything else is good
