Yes I would. I've known people who attempted suicide, failed and are now perfectly functional and in succesful relationships. Depression is an illness but you shouldn't be discriminated for having it. But you do need to simply ask if you would date a person with an illness, because sometimes they do require to be treated a certain way if they are not feeling well. But hey that's what you have doctors and antidepressants, excercise and diet, too so you wouldn't be alone in helping them if you care for them. That's how I see it.

Everyone gets dented as they stumble through life. There's always a way back up from hitting 'rock bottom'.
So here's another question: if it's history, why not?
And another: Are people who never had any dark moments before better suited to have a healthy relationship?

I did it and it was incredibly weary.
With people who have a history of violence or attempted violence (against others or themselves) you never know if something you say or do will set them off.

It seems a little bit scary but if you are attracted to them and you know their history I would suggest you at least try and date them you could end doing them a huge favor if you are asking it is not bad but I suggest taking it slow

As long as it is history and they worked it out, I would. Depression is no joke and needs to be dealt with as quickly as possible.
