Is it possible for an average-looking guy to date a really hot girl?

I was watching the movie She's Out of My League with some friends of mine and we got to talking about whether or not it was realistic for a hot girl to fall for an average-looking guy. One of my friends said it would only be possible if the guy was rich or in a band. I agree with that but I also believe that we don't see a lot of average-looking guys with hot girls because these guys are just not confident about themselves. I truly believe that if a guy is confident, funny, and can make the girl feel special, then he can get any girl he wants. But these so-called "average" guys are generally shy and uncomfortable around hot girls and therefore never have the guts to ask one of them out. So what do you guys and girls think about this? Is it possible for a guy who's a 5 or 6 to date a girl who's a 10?

The hotter the girl, the smaller the heart. Avarage girls are greatferefore more loyal and willing to go the extramiles, unlike those who get any guy who they want. Before you go for the best, know why them and not others below 10. When you answered that question, you know why a girl with options wouldn't settle for less. If you were the guy,

I do not know what it takes to become the Guardian of an Angel, but I do know that going for someone you are not happy with is the same thing as using someone. Playing with peoples feelings is playing with fire, because sooner or later someone will get hurt. I am not born, or raised to become a Joni (who is exactly those things I listed), and I have tried to become one, and never worked out. Being myself is not enough either, so I don't know how to help you, but I share the same hope of having just one hot girl on my side in life.

If there is anything for those five star kids like Joni to envy in us, the ones that are not even 10% of what normal people are,is the ability to be loved for who they are, not for being the symbol of next step of human evolution.

All those guys out there with a good heart and low acceptance barriers in dating, I wish to say that you are all better than me as in more decent human beings.

I'm sure it's possible because despite looks, girls have personalities underneath it all. Sure they may act different because of how they are treated, but there is still those girls that don't treat their own looks as a big deal and act more "normal". I don't know if it is a common thing or not though. That movie was really funny and while I do like it's message, it might be painting a pretty picture for those kinds of situations. Again, I'm not saying that all pretty girls are evil and only associate with those like them because I don't know. But it just seems like human nature to aim for what is in your range. Guys shoot for pretty girls because it's just what we strive to get. I don't think girls are too much different in that aspect. Just because a guy likes a pretty girl, doesn't mean she has to like him back.

Most dating advice for women is to not have too many requirements, look past looks, and stop being picky because you are going to get old and lose your looks.

I see hot girls with 6/7 guys all the time.

I see 6/7 girls with 5 guys all the time. Those girls are still out of those men leagues because while they may not be the most attractive they are more attractive than them.

Most men have more attractive partners and the future is just getting brighter. Look up more beautiful daughters being born.

So while a 5 guy might not get a 10 girl he'll still get a girl more attractive than him then a 5 girl.

Totally. My friends tease me about the guy I'm attracted to/seeing currently. Family and friends (guys too) seem to consider me good-looking, although I'm uncertain of the number rating I'd receive; I have stronger feelings for this guy (who's appearance isn't that of Brad Pitt, per se) than I've had for anyone. It's rare, but that's not saying it can't happen because it can happen.

But If you're slightly below average as far as looks then most likely no.

Super-attractive girls will most often have very high standards as far a guys looks and personality.

If your good looking, trendy, highly sociable and very outgoing with women and have great skills, you could date a girl who's a "10".

If your average then you could at least get a girlfriend.

If you are reserved or shy, unattractive or ugly, and uncool then prepare to be a virgin for the rest of your life because you ain't NEVER getting any. This is the type of guy that NO girl would date or even have sex with. There is absolutely nothing you can do about it. Sorry, but that's the sad truth.
