He was pursuing me at first and now he hardly attempts to move things forward. Is there a way to revive this?

I’ve been getting to know this guy for about 5 months. At first he was pursuing me with constant communication and setting up dates. On our last date over a month again he mentioned that we should go on a day trip somewhere and I agreed it was a great idea and that we should. Weeks later I brought up casually us meeting up and he said either that weekend if not the weekend after we could see each other. Both weekends passed and while we texted he never brought it up. Was I supposed to bring up plans? It’s been a week since we communicated. I stopped replying to him because the texts were getting boring. I enjoy his company but I don’t want to get strung along with only texting. Am I better off leaning back and see if he initiates something or should I try keep the conversation alive?
