They want the hookup (and some will be upfront about that) but they think if they're honest about it, they'll have less women willing to do that, so they'll say they want a relationship till they get what they wanted, then they'll start looking for the next, sometimes while still in the relationship.. A guy I knew once compared it to looking for a job you get a replacement before you quit... Why I say 'knew" not know, cuz I can't be friends with people like that... I fail to see how a friend with benefits concept falls in line with that idiom. Sex and commitment aren't mutually exclusive and wanting one and not the other is in no way contradictory.
