Why do women seem to prefer exotic beauty, and men, classic beauty?

It’s been a huge trend, for men that being tall, dark and handsome, will get them girls easier, while men seems to be more attracted to fair skinned women with light hair and light eyes.

It seems to be true in a way, cause I see more couples with the man having darker features ( eye and hair color) than his wife, over the opposite.
Even when it comes to the same gender, I noticed that women find brunettes exotic girls to be gorgeous while men seems to prefer classical blonde girls, just like I see many gay men being obsessed about blue eyes and blonde guys, or I see many straight men preferring an average girl with blue eyes over a pretty faced woman with dark features, but women don’t seem to care about hair and eye color as much as men do. Am I the only one who noticed that?

I heard women are biologically programmed to seek out the best dna possible including that from other tribes. They see exotic as exciting and want biodiversity. While men tend to be protective of their own tribe and are more focussed on winning and protecting their own.

Who knows how true that is, but i did notice women tend to be open to foreign men and foreign influences even if it can destroy a society where as men are protective.

I think it's cause women have historically liked having strong men that don't mind going out to work/hunt for food/money & who can protect/shelter them.
& cause men have historically wanted women who manage their home/food/family & avoid going out because they want their woman only for themselves.
Those role desires cause an inherited attraction to the resulting features.

I've generally found that the darker the woman, the more likely she is to want to date a man with lighter skin and eyes (I know a ton of women who want their kids to have "colored" eyes), and I know a lot of darker men who feel the same way.

@ asker not true. Men are far more likely to settle than women in terms of their mates. However the main thing hampering them settling at all is the court system. Until women fight alongside men for reform and true equality many men will NOT settle. This is because the worst thing in a man's life is to lose his mate and children and the statistics prove it. The leading cause for male suicide is divorce, go look into it. It's the times that are affecting if/when/where men will settle. Many of them have moved overseas to find a woman that can't just pack up and leave. Basically REAL COMMITMENT. That's why many western men have moved to Asia and many are converting to Islam or have gone completely MGTOW.
