I don't really get the concept that a woman will come along. Where the hell do they come from? I don't expect a real answer, but the idea that they show up when the time is right... sounds like a load of crap, does it not? I can't bring myself to believe that

They come from your everyday life while you are working, going to stores, doing chores, engaging in hobbies, etc. Just focus on your life without making a girlfriend a focus. Try to make friends in general, not just a girlfriend. The more friends you have, the better your odds are that one of them will lead you to a girlfriend. Many relationships, and arguably the best ones, start as friends or friends of friends first.
