Is it morally okay for an 18 year old to date a 17 year old?

I’m about to turn 18, a few days before the boy I like turns 17. We’re like exactly a year apart, though I’d say at the same maturity level, with similar interests and we just click so well.
Legally I know it’s allowed, as per the Romeo and Juliet law, but would you say it’s morally okay for an 18 year old girl to date a 17 year old boy?

As long as you just date, are casual and have no sexual intercourse, you are fine.

Just keep from being intimate for a year. That should not be that difficult, right. A peck on the cheek is okay and not reprehensible or morally wrong.

Sexual intercourse with children, even if there is only one year's difference in age is always a problem, regardless whether Romeo and Juliet are involved or not.

Just be strict and do not initiate or allow anything intimate and you are okay, both legally and morally.

By who's standards? Are you concerned 😟 about that insurmountable 12 month or less age gap between the two of you hypothetical teenagers? I see no morality that is valid that would have a problem with it. Due too new legislation in some communities, you may want too hold off on public displays off affection until you both exceed that 18 year benchmark on coupling.

• But just wait to do anything sexual together. Until you both of legal age to consent to it. And you both do so of your own free will.
• Check your local laws for The minimum age of consent. To legally have sex as some places do very a bit for local laws.

Legally it is allowed as long as you don't live in a state that disallows it. California, for example, is a strict 18 (unless emancipated or married). Literally if you turn 18 today and your SO turns 18 tomorrow, engaging in sex today is a crime for you.

But to answer your question. Morally, there is nothing wrong with it.
