Blocking or ignoring someone - what's the best option?

All of the advice from women here saying to block or ignore them is TERRIBLE if you're talking about a break up. Have you ever heard of ghosting? Do you know how it feels when someone just never says anything to you because they don't want to just fucking tell you the truth? You feel like you don't deserve to be called a human being. Listen, don't get me wrong, if someone is harrassing you, then tell them "leave me alone" and then block them and ignore them. My ex broke up with me by trying to be "nice" instead of honest and it sucked. I would ask her out on a date and she would ignore me. I would use a term of endearment and she ignored me. I had no idea what the fuck was wrong. Just tell the damn person that you don't want date them, be honest as to why, and make it a clean breakup. Don't be "the ghost" because that can effect how others treat you and it can also effect the person you treat like that. You can genuinely cause someone to have REAL social anxiety and/or deppression.

It depends. If they are just an annoying troll, I just ignore them. If they are the type of troll that blocks me, then posts me, then blocks me again. . . I have to block them back.

Because you will try to respond to them after they posted you, only to discover they blocked you again.

on here i will just ignore someone if they're getting out of control, then give them another chance at a later time if they're polite, usually they are.

it takes a lot for me to block someone, so if i do, you've done something bad or way too often

Unless the person has an anger control issue I say that doing either one of them is quite cowardly. If you thought enough of an individual to be in some sort of relationship at one time then unless they are guilty of some horribly egregious act, then in my estimation a conversation to tie things all up is the least you should do. Ignoring people is a short cut to further issues.

Why are you blocking/ignoring someone? 🤔 I personally think that blocking gets the point across. But I think that you need to let the person know why you are blocking them first. It’s only polite.

I usually ignore people. I only block if they’re disrespectful and going out of their way to be as disrespectful as possible.

Just ignoring someone. Say your busy, or that you don't feel good. Don't go places where you could see that person. Blocking can be a little to strong. Just kind of slowly distant yourself and they will learn gradually and maybe not take it as hard.
