He called me bad names and even go his sister involved with arguing with me. Then a hour later he text me to play iMessage games with 😌 emoji and ask if I was ok. Why did he do this?

It doesn't sound like he's good with apologizing. Maybe he is, but not this time. He might just hope itll blow over or imessages games is his peace offering to you. An apology before the games would be nice, though.
