Do you think women should wear makeup to attract men or is that “false advertising”?

I mean, if it leads to a relationship it’s only a matter of time before he sees her relaxing at home with no makeup on. What if the guy thinks she is hot at first, dates her for a few weeks and then after a few weeks discovers she doesn’t look pretty without her makeup on?

Is it better to just not wear makeup in the first place so that he sees her natural face straight away?

If the man sees her with no make-up and he loved her, then what part of her did he love? Her looks or her personality? If it was her personality, then he wouldn't feel the need to leave; but, it also depends on the woman, if the man falls for the woman with make--up, falls for her personality and realizes that she is uncomfortable with the make-up on, he'll tell her to not to wear make-up just to impress and feel comfortable (embrace) with her looks. If the woman likes to wear make-up because it'll make her feel good, he will probably tell her to stop wearing make-up to look good, because all she has is him and he can care less if she wore make-up.

It's all about the personality. I despise anyone who go after looks. Like, why go after looks? What are you getting from her? You want to boost your reputation? Play her once you find a girl "better looking" than she? Are you going to leave her after she develops wrinkles of old age? It's just utterly stupid and sad that people can be hypocrites and judge, criticize others of how they look. I think people who go after looks don't truly love that person, because if she/he asks why you love them and your response is something that doesn't involves her/his personality, they will be heart broken and leave you because they actually fell for you because of your personality. Now, if they fell in love with you because of your looks, then I have nothing more to say.

I don’t know how men will feel about this one. But I do know that when I used to wear makeup I’d look every day in the mirror for whatever is wrong with my face that day. Dark circles under eyes, zits, puffiness, etc... you know, to cover up with concealer or foundation. I never wore that much, but the process of donning it totally killed my confidence. I also noticed that if I forgot blush one day, everyone thinks I look ill, or tired. And I thought, that’s not fair, you know?

If a guy is sleep deprived or ill, people can tell. They know to help him out a little more than normal or give him a wide berth, depending on temperament. It’s nonverbal communication that I couldn’t engage in. With makeup, I always had to look healthy and awake no matter how I actually felt. It’s what makeup does. But I wanted people to be able to look at me and say: you look ill, are you okay? But because I was all made up, I worked, leaning on the cash register through the dizziness and ignored the pounding headache and no one was the wiser. Or people thought I was in a bad mood when really, I just couldn’t stay awake.

So I don’t wear it anymore. And I’m genuinely a happier person for it.

There is a lot of talk among guys recently who say they hate makeup. But in my opinion what most guys really prefer is light, natural looking makeup that isn't easily noticeable.

What guys are really bothered by is the fake look that has become increasingly popular with women who end up looking like plastic mannequins with their heavy, caked on makeup, perfectly shaped or even tattooed on eyebrows, fake eyelashes, bright lipstick, long fake nails, fake boobs, puffed up lips and dyed hair... soooooo much fakeness and that is a huge turnoff.

Light makeup that isn't obvious is fine, but try to keep everything natural looking and don't look fake.

It's personally not an issue with me, I can judge how a woman looks like even when she has makeup on.
And if she looks nice, then I'm not going to complain.
Of course, I'm going to complain if the makeup actually just looks bad/tacky (like super duper smokey eyes with neon pink lipstick), but that's a matter of personal taste.

I've only seen drastic transformations in viral videos, where ridiculous measures were taken, such as taping the face and eyelids to pull back/change the actual shape and proportions of the person's face etc.
That's obviously BS, but nobody does that in real life.

Definitely NOT false advertising. Relationships progress in ways that make sense, with the initial attraction, then the build up of the connection (or not in some cases)

If the make up allows the initial interaction to continue such that he gets to know you and your personality, likes, etc. than it's done it's job.

I do something in reverse by initially hiding my tattoos to when meeting somebody for the first few times. Several years ago I decided to tattoo huge Playboy bunnies on my arms, which turns out makes it difficult to meet women as they don't take me seriously. Turns out sporting the Playboy logo is a huge turn off for them... especially permanently.

So that means at some point later in the relationship, like you, she'll see me at home with a short sleeve shirt, or a tank top or even shirtless, and my tattoo "secret" will be revealed.

So at that point she'll either cringe and step out, or I'll have won her over with my personality and fun loving nature, and things work out !

False advertising for sure, i always watch out for those full face makeup, never know what could come out of it in the night. Wear soft/little makeup with clear lines that makes your natural beauty shine even more.

I think you should reveal your natural beauty first. I've seen how beautiful people look in makeup but when they are without look totally different. Ironically some women don't need any makeup to enhance their beauty.

I don't wear make up to get men. I wear it to boost my confidence and because i like being dolled up and i do it occasionally
