For you, what is the difference between interesting and intriguing?

For example, when you tell someone is interesting and intriguing. But what is the difference between interesting and intriguing? I don’t get it jaja.

If someone tells me something that's "interesting" I'm usually fascinated by it but I leave it at that. I know everything I care to know about it. Now, "intriguing"... that's when someone brings up an idea that's vague and worthy of being explored further. Something that makes me curious and wanting to learn more about it, or even experience it.

Interesting is like something that makes you think or is peculiar, whereas intriguing is something fun and peculiar also sometimes makes you think.

As adjectives the difference between interesting and intriguing, is that interesting is arousing or holding the attention or interest of someone. While intriguing is causing a desire to know more; mysterious.

I always thought it was the other way around.
A person can be intriguing, but not turn about to be as interesting as one may have originally thought.
Mystery can evaporate very quickly.
Being interesting has many layers.
