So like on our first date we split the Bill which I’m ok w cuz he didn’t have a job at the time. But he never buys me any gifts or anything. I personally do not think a partners owe each other gifts. If you buy him stuff out of the blue and he doesn't do the same for you maybe mention that you would like a surprise from time to time. The reason why getting flowers feels good is because that means someone thought about you and went out of their way to take action to show that they thought about you. Maybe he can show you the same sentiment without buying gifts.

If he's not romantic but treats you right otherwise and makes you feel special. Everyday gifts are silly.
