I'm in an arranged marriage country, so adults don't usually date here. Dating is getting common but is still rare.
I'm a shy guy and there is this girl that I like. We looked at each other a lot but never really talked to each other. I have never talked to a girl I like before so I was a bit nervous about talking to her. From what I can tell is that she is shy too. I have seen her staring at me when I was not looking, and when I realized that someone was staring at me she'd quickly look down.
One day she smiled and we both looked at each other 3-4 times. She made it obvious that she was looking when I looked back, so I wanted to talk to her
I asked my friend if he could help me out. He went up to her and said “Excuse me, this guy wants to talk to you”. She said “okay”. My friend went away and she said hi to me and I said hello. We shook hands, and then I asked her name. She told me her name and then both of us were just looking and smiling each other for 4-6 seconds and we both nodded our heads before I said “Okay, thank you”.
I went away for a few seconds and talked again to her. I then asked her if she didn’t mind that I’m talking to her like that out of the blue, she said no. I then asked her if we could talk for 2 minutes to which she asked me what I want to talk about. I didn’t know what to do and got nervous, said “Nothing” and left.
She didn't look annoyed or upset. She was smiling and had good eye contact with me, so I think that's okay.
The next day when I saw her she just looked down, so I didn't talk again. We both also stopped looking at each other like before. I didn't talk again because i was shy to speak to her. 2 days after we started to look at each other again but I didn't talk. She will also look from the side of her eye which I pick up.
I told this to my brother and he told me that this was creepy. I asked my sister about it too and she said that it was not creepy, but "awkward and cute". Was this really creepy?
