Why won't my boyfriend give me his number?

Me and my boyfriend have been dating a month. We met on Facebook dating and always talk on Snapchat. I told him countless times that I am sick of talking on snapchat because of the buffering and asked for his number. He completely ignores my question. When I ask him why he says " Im afraid you'll be like other girls I've dated". To me that sounds like lack of trust in me, his girlfriend.

It's just typical behavior that if a guy says he wants to be in a relationship with you but you can't get his number, you never meet his friends, he never invites you over... it's usually because he's hiding the fact that he is already in a relationship.
It's a common pattern.

That’s the red flag, It’s the way it is, social media is the new cheating tool, easier to hide especially if the other partner is not into social media much. Things could get ugly is the side kick calls at night when the wife or husband is around, that’s why most people don’t give out their numbers - either because they don’t trust or are cheating.

No, don’t, just trend carefully, being in a relationship is a risk, don’t be too trusting on his word, take it slow and never be desperate for good things to happen. Continue as usual but more careful as you check other red flags. Give him time as he decides when he will give you his number and when he wants that honey pot, also take your time based on your judgment on his trustworthiness.
