Than each other, or than their straight counterparts? If you're a guy, and you see another guy checking you out, it's a safe bet he's gay, too, or at least bi (note that "checking someone out" isn't the same as "sizing someone up", even though they both consist of looking at a person, and if you're not familiar with them, it's probably not hard to get them confused). But women check each other out all the time, and it's probably more likely to be "is she cuter than me?" than "is she interested in me?".

It's equal to anyone else. Gay people are fewer in number, but seek each other out more. Kinda like a "we're the best we've got" method of settling. Straight women have more options with straight men, but are far more picky and entitled, as well. So things cancel each other out.

It's hard to answer, there are less gay people so your dating pool is much lower, that makes it harder. At the flip side, the people who compete with you to find a mate is much lower, and that makes it easier.

for lesbians I think the answer is yes, conversely they have a reputation for moving in with each other like a week after they meet if they do start dating.
