I keep seeing people of either side saying they have it worse than the opposite sex when it comes to dating. What do you think?

What i mean is usually you will have different challenges to overcome or deal with depending on what sex you are in the dating world. But which one has it more difficult in your opinion?

Men will say women have it easier because women will get more likes than they do for online dating, what they don't know is that the reason this happens is because women are hypersexualized and even "ugly" women will get matches because there are guys that swipe right on everyone without looking. There are so many heterosexual men who are incredibly desperate to get with a woman and receive that social validation that they're a good man, that they meet certain masculine standards for being able to have and keep a girlfriend. They don't realize that women are repeatedly harassed by men that match with them as soon as they get the opportunity to talk to them. They're demanding things like sex too early, or implying that they should do as he says otherwise she's not worth his time.
Women will say men have an easier time of dating because not only are they more greatly appreciated for their personalities but their appearances don't matter as much as women's do. With women, they HAVE to be a certain kind of face, a certain body type, even a specific eye-color. Women's beauty standards drive them to deep levels of insecurity in their femininity, and they fear being alone and the idea that they're not a good person if they can't find a boyfriend so they must be a specific kind of pretty, meet these specific standards imposed by men and society, otherwise they're not going to find that companionship they want.
Men will say they have it harder because women are shallow, because men have to be a specific height and body type or they won't get women at all. They don't listen when women say that they don't care about the outsides as much as the insides.
Women will say they have it harder because men don't care about their personalities. It doesn't matter how pretty they are, a man will do everything he can, be whoever she wants for that first month of dating, if it means having regular access to sex with her. It's dehumanizing and they don't know how to connect with men in a way that holds real meaning to them and it's impossible to tell who's faking it and who's genuine. Not to mention the risk of men abducting or killing them is higher than a woman abducting or killing a man on a date.
Everyone has different challenges and struggles, no one's experience is universal. Having to look for that person that fits you best is a long, arduous journey and even when you get married you can still have found the wrong person. Personally, I think people should invest more in their platonic relationships over romantic ones anyway. The best relationships start as friends first.

What are you trying to do? Get me universally hated by the MRA types and the Incels? I think guys believe that dating is more difficult for men because they are the ones who primarily face rejection when asking women out. But you didn’t ask who has it more difficult BEFORE the date, you asked about dating it’s self! so, to those men who complain to me about rejection, when asking women out… Men can complain to me about how hard they have it having to ask women out on a date, and risk rejection when the justice department has a statistic for how many MEN were drugged and brutally raped on a date by a woman last year! Because while YOU may have to risk the rejection of a woman saying “no thank you, I already have a boyfriend”, we have to risk being drugged and raped every time we say yes to that request for a date. And if like me, other women are smart and pay for their own food and drinks, and never take their eyes off their food or drinks, and if you DO have to use the restroom wait until you are done with the food and drinks, or go before the food arrives, and tell the wait staff that you’ll be right back and to please not table the food until you return…. And if you are smart, and you do everything right to avoid date-rape drugs, you may still risk getting violently and brutally raped anyway!
So… yeah I guess we both have it equally difficult when it comes to dating..

I will never understand the incel mind. It is obvious women have it harder. When thinking of women, incels seem to only think in terms of the women they want to have sex with and give no thought to the countless women they reject without a second's consideration.

Then the obvious, no man here envies being a woman. I wouldn't trade places in a million years.

It's simple. The numbers are very close to equal. When a man has a date with a woman, a woman has a date with a man. So men and women date equally often.

I'm not an expert in dating since I've never dated anyone. However, I think it all comes down to your looks and confidence. I guess that gender doesn't matter. Of course, there are other things to take into consideration but I won't get into that.

I think men have it a little harder, partially because they’re often expected to make the first move. I have also heard that dating apps are more brutal on men and they can go months without getting one like, but girls get liked by almost every guy. Girls have more power and guys are more likely to be desperate in my opinion

Overall, men do because we approach more, and rejection is hard for a lot to take. Personally, the women I date do because I can be kind of a jerk.
