Is it okay to ask him out on a 7th date myself?

We have had 6 dates and he has been the one to ask me out,

We have chatted a bit today, I know it’s a matter of short time till he tells me when we should meet.

I want to ask him out on a 7th date though, just to communicate my interest because I feel like I have been sending mixed feelings and this once I want to show him that I am also interested in him.

Is it a bad idea?

Of course you can ask him out. The more concerning thing is that you are keeping a count of dates. How many dates you go on is not important... just enjoy them... and him.

It's a good idea. I don't think a guy should have to take the initiative every single time. If it's just him doing it he might think that the other person isn't really interested, so it's only fair

Yeah, but we meet once a week and we aren’t exclusive. I feel like he’s meeting other people too and he thinks I am seeing others too. He is also very attractive and I think he’s used to the female attention and I don’t want to be like one of the too eager girls to spend time with him. I set a new date on Saturday. Hope he doesn’t think I set it too late, because he told me he is free on Wednesday evening and on weekends. I chose a weekend because I am busier on weekdays.

I agreed to this because I initially met him to forget the another guy, of course, I’ve never said that to him.

Yes. I had feelings for him and I felt shocked because I thought he had feelings for me too and I didn’t think he’d be dating other people or that he would tell me about that given our 3 month daily communication and weekly video calls and his active engagement and interest in my life…

The reason I went out with this guy, I think it has to do with the previous guy.

I was hurt…

I went on a date with this new guy a few days after I ended things with the old one.

I was hurt…

I was not interested in this new guy, other than knowing that he was very handsome, so I didn’t care whether he was seeing other people or not, as long as he treated me respectfully, nicely and sweetly… Which he does.

But now we have been kind of getting along and even though our connection is nowhere as deep for me as it was with the previous guy, now that I get used to him more, I figure my less interest to him in the beginning and my wish to take things slow was more because of my attachment to my previous guy rather than my lack of interest to the new guy.

The thing is I am unable to make superficial connections and I feel like I have shown myself to be a bit more superficial to him than I actually am… Because I had my feelings reserved for that previous guy.

When I ended things with that previous guy. I soon regretted it.

Because I felt I missed out on someone I had an amazing connection with.

With this new guy I tried to compensate for it.

We are attracted to each other, but emotionally I feel nowhere as close and natural with him as I did with the previous guy.

After reaching out to him after a month, our conversation still felt so natural, as If we never stopped talking.

In a way, I started to meet this new guy because of the old guy.

Because I wanted to let go of the feeling of hurt.
I didn’t expect it to work out and us to end up going to 6 dates.

Do you think, you will ever be able to let go of your dates and stick to one? I have hard time seeing it, coming from a place where you were hurt, and jumping into the new one (which now lasted 6 dates) and more to come, you will always find something positive vs negative about them all... and the comparison will drive you mad that you can never truly let go. Do you agree with my assumption?
