Do you feel men and women should court before they get married and Do you feel courting is unnecessary in this dating world and why?

I believe courting is necessary if you intended on getting married. Courting is the first stage before a serious and exclusive relationship.

Yeah I think you need to get to know each other very well before marriage. No rush in my mind to get married. Seen so many fiends and family go into it too early and they just don’t know each other well and they fall apart Because they realize they don’t have the same goals or expectations. It’s easy when you are having fun getting to know each other and having lots of sex. That’s still pretty surface.

Agreed. Once the honey moon phase is over, he should still be courting you.

Well this holy matrimony, although I feel it’s holy and special, is not always a happily ever after.. like you, I’m in no rush and don’t plan on getting married. It takes a long time for me to trust people and really get to know them. What better way to test my love for you by just staying by your side in sickness and in health.

@On_cloud_wine agreed. Not much of a point but there are legal benefits that can be worth it once you find the one. I actually had an ex that we always planned on having a kid together not married or even dating. We both have careers etc. Money would not be an issue etc. I would have done it but she had some health problems that made having a kid not the best idea. I’d still do it if she was in the spot to but she’s a little older and I think she’s beyond having a kid at this point. Maybe not. Lol. Maybe I should ask her if she wants to revisit that.

For the sake of her health, I would opt for adoption, and so many kids need a good home too..

@On_cloud_wine yeah. I’m not gonna say I understand it though. At my company we offer benefits to civil unions too but that’s almost like getting married. You file paperwork etc. I don’t even know about that a ton but I know we have it.

Dating is about sex nowadays or hook up culture where sex is the focus and not actually dating. I have no experiences with men and sit back and watch how things are. I’m not out there..

courtship is the old name for flirting. so there is no difference between them. but if marriage is desired, it's good to flirt to get to know each other beforehand.
