You didn't say if he has your number but I assume you gave it to him. You should have asked for his to see if he was really interested or just being polite. If he wasn't really interested he would give you a fake number, the same as girls do.

So, if you are really interested in him text him and ask him out. The guy doesn't necessarily be the guy to make the first move. If you are both waiting on the other nothing will ever happen.

Try texting him first, initiate contact. But if you see that after some time you're still the only one initiating the contact first then be sure that he's not interested in being more than friends.

The guy just probably doesn't like texting. I know I don't. I used to like it, but I learned that texting is an awful way to communicate, so I don't do it anymore. I would rather have something to talk about in person.

It's impersonal to text. You can get more personal and it is faster to talk by phone or in person.
