When you can't stop thinking about someone?

This guy appeared in my dreams last night and I haven't seen him in 2 weeks. I've read somewhere that when someone appears in your dreams it means they have been thinking about you. And when you can't get someone off your mind, it means they are thinking about you too. Is this true?
