Guy friend called me on the phone. We went on a date last month that I asked him to. We went swimming that day and after we swam, he invited me to eat. Over the phone yesterday, he said I don't cuss about bad situations and have a good attitude. He brought up the date and said I was good company and it was a great day. He called me elegant. He said he notices I compliment everyone except myself. He invited me to play sports with his group of friends. He asked me when my group of friends are gonna play sports so he could join in again. At the end of the call, he told me to call him again sometime. He hasn't asked me out on a one-on-one date? Is he just trying to get in my pants?

No, elegant would imply he thinks your classy. Although he could just be blowing smoke up your hooha.

Trying to get into your pants via flattery. But usually "elegant" isn't a term one would use for that.

Funny, a while back I ran into a girl I had been in school with from the 2nd grade, but hadn't seen for many years. She mentioned that in Jr High she had had a crush on the boy who lived next door to me, who had also been in our classes. I told her about his crush at the time, a girl she had known. She said how elegant that girl had been. And she had been - beautiful, but also perfectly groomed, conservative in dress, polite and soft-spoken.
