If a girl is being nice to you in a Starbucks drive through, do guys think it’s good customer service or flirting?

So I’ve been working at Sbux for about 2 months now, and they really really stress customer connections. We even had a whole meeting about it not too long ago. So because this matter seems so important, I always try to act happy and pleasant no matter how chaotic it gets doing solo drive through. So it was just a regular day and I thought I was being a decent Starbucks barista at the drive through, with the good customer connections and everything and apparently one of the guys that came through knew a girl who also worked at our store. And he told her that he thought I was flirting with him. ., so when I heard this, I was just baffled because at first, I had to think about who out of the countless many customers that came through the drive through would even say that. She had to pin point who it was to me and I could hardly even recall his face from before. So that left me to wonder if I was being too friendly and if I was giving people the wrong impression. .. I swear., I’m just doing my job people. I’m not at Sbux to find love and to flirt with strangers, I’m barely just now getting used to how chaotic the job is 🥲

In just about any business, especially customer related, there seem to be a few that will mistake friendliness and cheerfulness as flirting. It’s only one guy. Don’t let it get to you or make you second guess yourself. Just keep doing what you’re doing 😀

The guy actually turned out to be a young cute guy, maybe in his late teens or early twenties. I’m thinking maybe that’s why it was so easy for him to think I was flirting with him., this kind of shows his ego
