I started going out with a guy, and we got pretty hot and heavy quick. I met him on a Thursday and by Monday I had slept over (closer to my work) and we had gone out to dinner twice. Well, he leaves for a trip and I wanted some clarification. I told him that “I might like you a little bit” trying to be cutesy and flirty. I also asked him if the feeling was mutual.
He said that there was “definitely something to explore here and although he doesn’t want to jump right into something, he also isn’t a casual dater. Let’s keep seeing each other and see where it takes us.” Any clarification on this? I’ve been on the receiving end of a few “im not looking for a relationship” texts and curious if this is one of them.

“Let’s see where things go” can mean a lot of things and you’ll know what he truly means by looking at his actions. If he’s barely contacting you and he’s only focused on getting ‘hot and heavy’ then you’ll know instantly what he meant by that line.


His response is a red flag to me and allow me to explain. If you mentioned “What are we?” or something amongst those lines and he responded with “Let’s see where things go” then I would say okay he’s probably dating around and want to weigh his options. HOWEVER, you expressed your interest towards him and he completely disregarded it. You expressing your interest isn’t asking him to get down on one knee to propose to you. Be cautious. He’s probably like the idea of exploring the physical intimacy with you but doesn’t see things long term.

I do think it’s a good sign that he mentioned he isn’t a casual dater, don’t you? To be exact he said “let’s keep seeing each other and see where it takes us” I guess I have known him less than a week. Probably getting ahead of myself

I mean, I've been "hanging out" with a girl, but, we haven't really done anything, mainly because she's sort of stuck right now

He didn't say he doesn't want to date. He does, but he doesn't want to go into a relationship quickly because he doesn't date halfway. If he dates he's in it for an endgame (usually marriage).
