My question is why do 10 guys go for 3, 4, 5, 6 women? Women tend to be very choosy when picking men (looks, personality, money) but even hot guys that can have any girl will be with a girl far below them in looks and accomplishments. Why do men who are "top tier" date ugly or average women? Also, shouldn't women acknowledge that the deck is stacked in favor of women in dating? An average woman can have lots of choices but an average guy basically has to settle for whatever he can get.

I believe it was Dr. House that said "10's don't date 10's." The reason for this is that "10's" are used to being the very center of attention at all times, wherever they go. By dating a 10, he introduces competition.

As to why 10's date 4's, the reason is pretty simple: Looks only matter to a certain degree. So long as you don't need to get drunk in order to find your woman attractive, that's all that really matters. Past that point, any additional looks are just icing, and secondary to more important things, like intelligence, loyalty, and compatibility to your personality.

1-10 is a fictional standard, the reality is people have varied preferences, so one person's 10 may be another person's 1, and vice versa. You are making the mistake of thinking every guy wants the same thing.

Also, only people who settle have "lots of choices". People are individuals, so it pays to be very picky, and not just with looks, but with everything.
