How would you feel if your partner told you they needed a break and to get away by themselves to figure things out?

The girl I been dating has been nothing but a drama case to me , showing so many signs of being selfish and only really caring about herself to the point I feel she is just plain out selfish , Her and I have been butting heads because I feel like she just likes the convenience of me and I feel like I am giving more then she is giving to me, She told me she needs to get away to figure things out with her life by herself , I told her go right ahead if that’s what she needs to do , but to me it sounds like a lame excuse and I feel like I am not going to be a sitting duck waiting for her , Am I wrong? Sadly I don’t feel I am wrong considering this shit happened to me before with my ex to come to find out the bitch was cheating on me , So this time around, I am not going to be a sitting duck waiting for her and plan on just go do my thing and open to meeting someone else , I know that sounds messed up but it’s messed up to be walked on for no reason is how I look at it , If she wants to be selfish then I will be as well is the way I look at it , Why do people feel they can just take advantage of people? They want you to meet their needs but when it comes to meeting yours it’s something they don’t even think about. This is reasons why I don’t fully commit to someone , How can someone expect you to be what they want you to be but can’t do the same for you , if you need space from your partner and can’t fix the issue together then you are best just to move on and not come back is the way I look at it. I am not going to lie it hurts like hell that she wants time away from me but part of me feels like maybe it’s for the best , Maybe I need to open up myself and see what else is out there. So am I wrong?

I dont take breaks unless im at work. Breakup with me so we can be done and i can move on to someone who knows what they want, when they want it, where they want it, how they want it, and if they want it with me
