I've seen this data before. According to other research and data, the most desirable people in the dating world are white men, white women, and Hispanic women. The least desirable people are black men, black women, Asian men (specifically, Chinese descent "Asian"), and Indian men.
So I'd say this data is somewhat true. However, the most desirable women part is very much untrue. In what reality are Arab and Polynesian women desirable outside of those countries? Nobody wants a woman in a hijab in the Western world. That's a huge turn off. And most white and Western men are just going to assume she's saving herself for marriage and will never have sex, which is the reason *those* men aren't interested. (I personally do not like the Islamic ideology and find it to be disgusting and barbaric.) And Polynesia? No one even remembers that's a thing. It certainly isn't the "most desirable" among women. Unless they specifically meant ONLY Hawaiian women, which isn't quite the same.
So yeah, in my opinion, these stats are only half accurate.
Probably still somewhat accurate. Most people who go on dating sites are looking for sex with white women or relationships with white men. Asian women on dating sites tend to be white obsessed, and Indian men tend to be white obsessed. Surprisingly white men are a little more open to anybody.
The chart is more than 12 years old.. very outdated. Also from a time when online dating was not as big, and number of participants/data points is important in statistics. I would not use those stats for anything today.

To be honest, the starkest thing is shows is that men get next to no replies across the board while women who initiate conversation have a decent chance of getting a response.
It shows more how useless dating apps are for men than who is most/least desirable by ethnicity.
Well right away the fact that the male-sender side is all red while the female sender side is mostly green is pretty accurate.
The Asian woman sender would probably be the highest if it weren't for all the fake profiles of Chinese girls from like Des Moines, Iowa wanting to learn English.
Those number for black women are really unfortunate, though. Though if you look again, while they get the lowest responses, it's still more than the men who get the best responses.
It's just one set of numbers, gathered at a dating website where most members are white, so the data is not scientifically gathered/ significant. And your post doesn't even interpret the data correctly. For most and least desirable, using the average numbers, the least desirable women are Black 34.3 and Native American 42.3, not Indian 42.7; Hispanic 42.5 is less desirable than Indian.
You ever go shopping and can't find apples because they were sold out when you got there? But then next week they have too many apples, and some of them rot because not enough people bought them?
The number of people per race and gender who are single varies, as does the number of people looking for that combination or any other.
Measure the statistic again later, you get a different result, an unpredictable one.
Probably pretty accurate. It definitely shows that women don't respond to 75% of men's messages while men respond to at least half of women's messages (unless you're a black woman). But even then, black woman are comparable to the "most attractive" guys. So really, this is just an endorsement that online dating is garbage. Also, it shows that if you do online dating as a guy, go for black chicks because they'll be more receptive to you.
What world of people use okcupid besides lonely old people in their 30's and up and weirdo socially awkward people actually looking for a marriage partner and they don't connect with anyone irl. So the stats are wrong go around and ask people in real life if they're using okcupid and see how far and dead that app is

But probably not when you consider the world population. I think if they did a poll by society, it would yield different results.
I think it is a reflection of their user base. A lot of Muslims utilize online match making services because culturally they lean toward arranged marriage.
I think there's a lot at play here. As FictionalCharacter mentioned, it depends on who is signed up. Are the users of that website reflective of the population as a whole?

That's an accurate report of the behavior of Ok, Cupid users. I don't know if they reflect the preferences of all single people.
The main thing I get from these two charts is that women respond significantly less often then men and that race doesn't change that statistic much across the board.
Shit stats, which dont apply to real life.
There are equal amounts of beautiful women and men in all races and ethnicities.
OKcupid is hardly the market leader and I would like to see the raw data that was coalesced from.
yeah the differences between men and women seem accurate. but I don't know why the response rates of white males are so low for every woman.

Without stating the sample sizes, and how they were selected, it's impossible to even estimate ccuracy.
These are reply rate statistics and not most popular ethnicities.
Just a hunch, but I bet these statistics are skewed.
