Is this a red flag when online dating?

If a guy wants to exchange numbers right away without chatting for awhile via the dating app... is this a potential red flag?

I wouldn't say it's a red flag, because sometimes people don't like being on the dating app. I have done it before where I don't want to be opening a dating app consistently, BUT I would never ask for their number because that is too personal, I would ask for their social media, whichever they felt most comfortable with sharing.

What’s considered chatting for awhile? This could be different for anyone… but normally if this happens with me I end up ghosting them because they come on too strongly and clingy or want nudes. But if we message at least all day and even if they’re spaced out and longer responses I don’t see the issue. But right away as in they ask hey what’s up and then boom the number, yeah I lose interest naturally lol

not really as a phone # isn't that big of a deal anymore , unless this request is occuring within like minutes of meeting them , how soon are we talking like 5 min , 30 min?

Yes, it's within 5min. I find I get a compliment and a few texts then the request to exchange numbers.

seems a bit soon but read nothing wrong with asking during initial meeting especially if your unsure when or if you'd see person again. but this does seem really premature if its within 5 min , definitely not enough time to determine if your interested or not

No, once you build rapport it’s common to get off the app. Do what you feel comfortable with.
