+1 yI think at the very least you miss out on a lot generalizing that way. There are materialistic people from all over the world and I doubt you have to look far in your near vicinity to see that. The idea that the most materialistic of people come from poor countries is at least contrary to my experiences.
Of course, there are ones in those countries so desperate that they want to pair up with someone wealthy to escape, but that's missing the forest for the trees. As a counter-argument, a lot of people who come from poorer countries can be less materialistic for the simple fact that they're used to a life without much material.
It'd be like if I went to Los Angeles and confused a struggling and materialistic Hollywood model and thought her representative of the entire nation. So you can do you and I want you to be happy however you go about but maybe you're missing out on some really great company by looking at things this way.09 Reply- +1 y
One thing in my experience having traveled to so many places in the world is I'm not blind to the essence of what you're talking about. I've seen it firsthand. But I've also seen far too much to contradict this idea as well. A thing I've come to find is that passionate people of a sort I want to generalize as "artists" (in every broad sense of the term) usually aren't materialistic. They're too concerned with their craft to revolve their life around the pursuit of material.
So as an example I dated a girl from Ukraine long ago. She was an acrobat at a local circus where I lived. And she was poor along with her family. They were stuffed into the smallest two-bedroom apartment with like eight people living there when it should only be two or at most three. But they treated me like family and they were so passionate about their art of performing in the circus as with my ex who invited me there in the first place. She was the polar opposite of materialistic as with the rest of her entire family and circus troupe. - +1 y
I find chivalry nauseating and an outdated concept, as do my female counterparts in the West.

I still dig it even though it's not something I was exposed to so much coming from Japan starting out. Well, the essence of a man as a protector makes sense to me especially if he extends that not just to women but all people he can protect from danger. As one who isn't all that materialistic or hedonistic, that seems like a worthier pursuit for me than trying to accumulate as much as possible or distract myself with the maximum of pleasures.
I actually don't think women abhor this concept though. Most seem to crave it if it's done with strength. How many women actually want a man who doesn't make them feel safe in their arms? How many want an asskisser or "simp" as they call it nowadays? I think they only protest the infantilization of women that can sometimes accompany that like they associate ideas of "protect the women and children" as us lumping women together with children (mistakenly, in my opinion, although that statement is so crudely put).
I think a man should be a badass. I don't mind if women are badasses too. More the merrier! - +1 y
The way I look at it even though this is sort of going far from the subject is that a man can't excuse his cowardice by saying his body is designed to nurture and conceive life. We can't do that. So what should we do if we are trying to be the best that we can be? We can protect it as I see it.
- +1 y
Bollocks... I mean yes I'll always stick up for friends and family (providing they have the moral highground of course) but women these days are more than capable of looking after themselves, they've proven this. There's women a lot stronger and fitter than me in various proffessions and walks of life. They don't lower the training to accommodate women in the police, ambulance, firefighters, military and other emergency services. Do they?
- +1 y
My thoughts have less to do with the capabilities of women and the potential we find in ourselves. If a building erupts on fire and a woman knows the layout of the building and isn't panicking I'm happy to follow her lead. But if the worst comes to worst and I seem to be the only one suited, or willing, to try to guide people to safety then I would like to be the one who steps up to the plate here.

I have no interest in trying to say what women should or should not be, let alone other men. But I find my ideal and sense of meaning in a personal idea of what I think I should strive to be. I sometimes crudely phrase it as what "men" should strive to be but ultimately it's really about what I think I should strive to be. It's what gives me a sense of meaning and purpose in this life. Everyone finds something that resonates with them as I see it and I applaud them when they find it. Mine is somewhat rooted in traditional ideas of chivalry with a modern twist that leaves it only as an ideal that I want to pursue myself, and a measuring stick by which I judge me and find myself short (which I frequently do; but that gives me motivation to become a better man, like quitting drinking for a start).

My political views are mostly centered around the problems of immigration, multiculturalism, globalism and zionism.

Mine are sort of extensions of my ideals and I'm not sure they're even right. I seem to conform somewhat to the American ideas of a "classic liberal". I'm almost to the point of American "libertarian" although I'm starting to find absurdity in those who think we should be able to drive without driver's licenses. So maybe some degree of regulation but a minimalist degree and a hesitant mindset about it.

+1 yYes it's shallow because you can lose everything and be in that position some day, not everyone had the privilege of being taken care of by someone else that had the money to live a healthy life and grew in a position they didn't have to worry about what they are gonna eat the next day, you'd have to live it to understand it, try watching how people live in poverty and imagine yourself in that position, if you still feel the same then I don't know what to tell you, don't expect to attract anyone with a different mentality than that, maybe you'll end up attracting a rich woman that will think you are too poor for her, just know that the people that come from the least, have the biggest heart.

Third world women are all gold diggers with no life skills and expect a man to take care of them as if women these days can't look after themselves, I'm an egalitarian and find "traditional" women or so called "anti feminists" to be lazy as sin.

I think the internet has brainwashed you, you are judging from hundreds of miles away like you even know anyone that is poor, am I right or am I right? I don't know if you are a man of science but if you are, you should know that speaking from the mind is just as pointless as a pencil with no lead without evidence, so what you are saying is just making you more shallow, you are treating everyone from the same place the same simply because they are from the same place thinking that everyone is the same, it's a very simple minded way of thinking, you can only survive with such a toxic mentality if you have a lot of money and fortunate for you, it's probably why you are still breathing and it says a lot, just by that I know your money was a hand me down and you never worked in your life.
- +1 y
Only hand me down I've had is being born in a wealthy country, that is it. Women from third world countries are less educated, have no social life other than going to church or mosque, they are told from a young age to marry a wealthy man to avoid working and he'll take care of you as long as you can cook and clean. They're essentially children, they have no work experience, a man pays for everything like a parent. I much prefer women on an equal footing to me, I hate chivalry with a passion and consider it a fortunately out of date mindset and practice. The only men who like third world gooks are unattractive beta males who want a slave, I'm not one of those.

That's all bullshit your rich friends tell you, y'all don't know what it's like, it's as simple as that, what you are saying makes no sense to the rest of the world because what you are saying is only in a shallow rich person's mind, the rest of the world has to work and they know the struggles, you were born into wealth, stop talking before you make yourself look dumber than you already look, go work for a company if you really wanna challenge yourself, cause that challenge is a person's regular day, your money is what's keeping you alive, just process that, without that paper you would die of starvation simply because you are speaking like someone that wouldn't be able to handle a job, and no running your parents company doesn't count, you were just fortunate that you have money, I'm pretty sure if your mother hustled as a stripper or low class job, your mentality on people would be different simply cause you'd know that your mother wasn't a bad person and was doing what she had to do to survive, it's all the same, people are doing what they can to get out of that horrible position, the fact that you can't process that is just further evidence that my prediction about you was correct, what do you know about working, getting up in the morning isn't working, you have no heart and a person without a heart is worse than a person without a soul (dead person) its just simple, it probably all sounds like gibberish cause I wouldn't expect you to understand what I'm saying because I know when you think of poor, you think of gold digger cause that's all the knowledge you've experienced from poverty and I know it's not the people you met but simply the stories you've heard online, get off the internet, you are letting it rot your brain and your heart.

I wasn't born into wealth apart from being born in a 1st world country, my relatives would certainly not approve of my occupation if they knew the full extent and it isn't the Internet that has brought these conclusions about in my mind, its the friends I've had who've dated Bulgarians, Filipinos, Poles, Gypsies etc that I've concluded these thoughts in my mind.
- +1 y
So it's a self build assumption? Alright so my work here is done, thanks for admitting that it's just your ignorance, I've met chick's from these countries and their dreams are similar to others, not to mention that your friends attracted these women for being showing off their money, you want a real poor girl, don't flex your money, show them your heart instead and they will see something beyond your money, you rich people do it wrong, if you are showing off your money, obviously you'll attract people that want the money, it's common sense, unless for some reason it's rocket science to you.

It's a stereotype not an assumption and with 99.9% of stereotypes they have substance and merit.

1.2K opinions shared on Dating topic. No, you have the right to feel that way, and many of us know some of you have that superior thought. However, you should be aware that there are plenty of Asian/Middle Eastern men who are already far ahead than you all despite the low currency exchange lol. I saw you mentioned about women from poorer countries are gold diggers and expect a lot from you. Of course, this actually explains why. Since you come from a “rich and civilised” nation, you are not supposed to be broke or earn lower than the men of color isn’t it? You put off by them being lower class/poorer, they put off by you being the same level as their men. It goes both ways.

+1 yThat’s an interesting perspective.
i hold dual citizenship between Australia and the United Kingdom. Born and raised Australia but making the move to either England or Scotland.
I don’t think I would care what country someone comes from or not. I basically got British citizenship automatically because my dad is British. I was not born there. I am not a better person than other people for having it. It was just luck because my dad was born there. So people are not better or worse people based on the country they are born into. It’s just luck.01 Reply- +1 y
Australians are ethnically British anyway.

+1 yPeople have their preferences. It's not necessarily shallow for a man to be put off by GOLDDIGGERS, whether from your country or otherwise, because they destroy men's lives. What is shallow, however, might be your expressed attitude. If you think that you are superior to another person, man or woman, just because your country has a bit more physical wealth at its disposal than Latin America or any other of the poorer countries you mention, then it is the WOMAN who would be justifiably turned off by YOU.

especially for your reason of feeling they're beneath you. You don't sound like they're missing out on anything by that decision so you do you i guess00 Reply2.9K opinions shared on Dating topic.
