Where I live you normally just grab a coffee or something together. Which if you are concerned about people talking is still fine. I'd grab a coffee with a friend, casual acquaintance, coworker, old classmate and so on.

A date doesn't have to be this big deal, it can be just two people talking. I dont know what you have in your town but I guess their is a park or something you can go to.

i have professional paparazzi lol anyway it’s not a big deal but places like the movies & such is a “date place” so i dont want him thinking anything

I think you're too focused on what classifies a date, just go to a fast food place and talk. he's going to think its more if he wants to, either way.
