For a few reasons. One, a majority of women in the West are fat, or at least overweight. Since picking women up is frowned upon, women who do not get hit on constantly (any girl 7/10 and up), who have easy access to boyfriends, go to dating apps.
The hot girls that are on there typically only want the attention, and a another wave of simps to follow their instagram (which is why most of them list ONLY their insta handle), and all that is left is the average/ pretty girls, most of whom are shooting for the 10/10 guy.
