Should a Christian and Catholic try to date?

Unlike other people commenting I don't think Catholics are Christian, their beliefs are more in line with Roman paganism. That being said, there's enough commong ground that this relationship could work if you both agree that the Bible and not a man is the final authority on anything related to religion... though in that case the Catholic person will inevitably discover that their beliefs do not align with the word of God and have to face the choice between the pope and God. That's a hard pill to swallow sometimes. I'd stil say it's worth a try, I would.

I see no reason. They basically believe the same thing. I mean what way does it work for the different sects of protestants? Do Presbyterians have trouble marrying Baptists? Would be different a Christian maybe marrying a jew, Muslim or Mormon maybe as their beliefs are poles apart.

Catholics are the original Christians. The rest are just branches off of the Roman Catholic Chirch. Protestants came from an English king who was refused a divorce by the Pope. So he crated his own religion, had 7 wives and executed some of them.

THANK YOU. I'm glad I didn't have to point this out. However- Henry the 8th had FIVE wives, not seven, was not refused a divorce (which the Catholic Church didn't support back then) but an annulment, since it had taken Papal action to allow him to marry Catherine in the first place, Protestantism had its roots in conflicts with the Church LONG before Henry was even *born*, and he wasn't a Protestant; he actually killed people who said he was (you should hear what he wrote about Martin Luther!).

Also, don't forget about the other branches of the Orthodox Church. The Russians and Copts wouldn't appreciate it, and the Greeks get mad whenever you mention the Pope.
