My guy friend can sometimes be flirtatious abd sometimes I don’t know how serious he is about his “jokes.” Yesterday we were on the topic of dating and ideal types. He said he wants to find a girl like me.

We are very close to each other and not shy. I think the reason why he isn’t good at expressing himself is bc he has said/asked weird things like “how do you feel about a guy like me” or “I think I fit your ideal type” or “are you offering yourself as my girlfriend” but I always change the subject or put a wall (reject) in a joking way. My closest friend told me he was def flirting but at those times I didn’t know bc we are so close to each other that I took it as a joke. It would be easier if he straight up confessed or something

He definitely selling himself to be with you more than friend. Why else you think that he keeps saying yhose things to you? He is confessing to you that he fit your type of guy that you may like. Just his method isn't your favourite. He do likes you. He does. But now as you change the subject since you think he joking then now he thinks that you are interested.

How i “showed” i was interested is making the first move to ask him to hang out.
