Girls, do you need your man to have a better job than you?

I notice that a lot of women are obsessed with the idea of dating "elite" men (wealthy, high social status). If you were something high end like a physical therapist, would you date a guy who had a trade job like a welder or carpenter, or a guy who just worked in an office making around 45K?

No. I don’t “need” my man to have a better or higher paying job than me. It doesn’t matter what job he works, as long as he can help contribute.


I’ve dated guys who worked at fast food, who worked in construction, who were unemployed, and are in the military… Their jobs didn’t matter to me, at all.


My current boyfriend works in the military and his civilian career will in fact make more than me, but I didn’t decide to date him just because he would be making more money than me. I actually didn’t know how much he made/will make, and I still don’t know how much he makes/will make.

Most women... all they care about is a guy's money and what he can do for or give her. For me it doesn't matter but I've had friends who have divorced husbands cuz he didn't make enough but she wasn't contributing at all!!!

I dont care about a comparison to me but Id like a guy who in the future has good chances to be able to provide for a family and if I raise the kids I can't contribute too much

Plus person's occupation doesn't matter to me. Profession is not a personality.

no I don’t care about his job as long as it’s not dangerous, he’s happy with it and it helps him live a sustainable lifestyle
