If it's anything like me, you have great positive personality traits, they just don't find you physically attractive and that's modern dating in a nutshell. You can tick every box going but if you aren't attractive, you're SOL.

So you'll get lots of "you're a keeper" and "why can't I find a guy like you" messages but no actual asking you out or accepting any advances you make if you like them.

This probably comes across as more bitter than I want it to, and I genuinely hope you have honest friends who mean what they say and if a relationship is something you're looking for, will actually help you rather than just give you platitudes like I was.

I think it's a whole package deal but I think in your case, the problem is not with the fishing boat but with using the right bait. Being a keeper usually isn't so hard as being an attractor. The challenge of being a keeper once you start attracting women is to remain one. For that, you have to stay true to your values and ideals.

You know, even someone as weird as Lady Gaga has her share of die-hard fans boldly expressing her weird self. She has her share of haters -- maybe even more than fans -- but she has her loyal fans.

The more authentically and boldly you unleash yourself on the world, the more you tend to divide people because you make them feel more strongly about you (either positively or negatively). But you'll know where you stand more clearly that way.

Most of us aren't capable of commanding mainstream appeal like a Shawshank Redemption or Titanic if we relate it to films. But some people absolutely love some campy B- horror film with a 3.5/10 rating on IMDB. But those films go all-out.

Also, impatience in wanting a girlfriend can come off as desperation, and women hate desperation.
