Why do girls do this?

Ever since I've tried OLD (online dating) I've been dealing with this issue. How come every girl I match with replies with one word responses? Like why match in the first place?

I don't think online dating is worth the hype and it's much better to meet people in real life. One word responses.. because they aren't feeling the attraction... but I mean how could they, since texting doesn't allow for emotional attraction.. etc

@Asker people do that for many reasons, maybe they aren't looking for anything serious, they just wanna flirt, they want attention.. the list goes on
