The older you get, the more you realize age doesn't mean shit. When you're young (before your 20s), you're still used to thinking that even a 1 or 2 year difference is a big difference. But when you get to 30 years old, you realize that even 10 years difference isn't a big deal. Then once you get to 40 years old, 15 years difference isn't a big deal. And it's funny because when you're 20, you're thinking wow 15 years is huge, because it is a big part of your life. But everyone eventually gets into the same mentality over time. My belief is, if it feels right, then go for it. No one should be forced to be in any relationship like the old days, but if it's what they want, I see no issue.

Really depends which age from and two.

for example age 30, 3 years is not even worth thinking about.

age 18, then yeah it becomes very much a thing.

Maturity, emotional maturity etc is also important

a 20 year old girl who is mature mentally and emotionally may struggle with a guy who is 23 but still not mature and not emotionally mature.

It does and doesn't. Time + life experience = maturity. It also doesn't guarantee a certain level of maturity because everyone is different. It's not perfect math lol.

In the context of this question she isn't necessarily talking about maturity. She is asking specifically about age gap of three years. To that there is no answer really other than maybe. Depends on how old all parties are and their personal feelings about the matter. For myself at my age 3 years gap is not a big deal.

@Sabinagilb Hmm technically this might be more of a question for the parent of the minor. Once this is 18 and 21 then those two people are adults and can both decide for themselves.

The girl will be 18 in a year (she has jumped a year in a school) and she is going to college in 5 month and the boy is already in, yes its legal

At your age, 3 years is a lot. As you get older (or at least more mature), it has less of an impact.
