Whats it like to date a deaf girl?

I have always been curious on how you could or can date a deaf girl. Being deaf does not mean you are stupid but on the contrary the lack of a sense can make all other senses heightened.

Do you pass a note pad? And if the relationship progresses do you start to learn sign language? I have always been curious about sign language. But in reality how does it all work at the start? It's hard to display emotions without some form of tone associated with it so at that point does it become a guessing game?

I never dated a girl who was deaf but I did have a deaf cousin. I was decent (not amazing) at sign language. It didn't matter much because he was good at reading lips and his speech was good too. We did normal stuff. Fishing, video games, basketball, etc. Deaf people are just normal people. I'm sure you could learn how to communicate with a deaf person, even if they were mute.
