Romance is about feelings and effort and connection not about hobbies

Hobbies help develop connection because if you both enjoy the same thing then it's easier to enjoy the time together so it's certainly helpful to share hobbies but it's not necessary because there are plenty of other ways to connect with each other including ways of connecting with each other doing things you hate doing

I was actually in a relationship with a woman who I view very fondly even now that I broke up with her and yes I broke up with her I still care about her I haven't talked to her in a while but I still care about her I just ended the relationship because things started getting Rocky because of something that happened in her life that just kind of changed her

Anyway this woman who I honestly could say I almost love I don't love it's not love anymore that left that's gone that's not who she is but still

We didn't really share much in common as far as hobbies and things like that go we really had only two things in common our sense of humor and the way we express ourselves and that was all we really needed

We didn't go out on dates or anything like that there was never really any romantic kissing under the stars and watching the fireworks we just sat and talked
Yes our entire relationship was based around zoning out having fun talking to each other and cracking jokes as well as a whole lot of flirting
Shockingly up until the incident where her personality changed we were having an absolutely wonderful time in the relationship was going swimmingly but then she got depression and things went downhill from there

Point is you don't need a ton in common with your partner form a long lasting strong bond

All you need is that one little tie that brings you two together and then you just strengthen that knot with time and effort

Matter of fact I hung out with her so much my personality started to change the way I talked started to change the way I view the life started to change I had hobbies I didn't have before a lot of things changed about me all because I just sat there and talked with her for literal hours

Sometimes you can't help you end up falling for. Even if it seems like you're very different on the surface level, you may end up really enjoying each other's company and come to find other aspects that you appreciate about them. You might even appreciate all the ways that they are opposite to you. There are plenty of opposite and unconventional couples out there. If you truly enjoy spending time with this guy, go for it! Of course, if you're also feeling uncomfortable or doubting, you're not obligated to go out with him either. It should be your decision whether to pursue a relationship with this guy or not.
