Dating a guy but he's not like the rest so what do I do?

So I've begun dating this guy he's followed me for 3 years and I was too blind to see it. I know I'm dense but lately things have come up and it's really began to irk me. I understand our situation isn't great we have a few issues we accept those. He's a mechanic so he works a lot but seems work has began to take a lot of his time more then even a bit of time for me. Since the place we live closes at a specific time we don't get a lot of time depending on when he gets back because we get separated by men and woman. But I've notice I'm the first one who actually sits and thinks and always ends up apologizing for literally everything. I have my issues but him not spending time and other things I feel should upset me but what do I do, do I back off or what? I'm so confused he works all day and doesn't answer but does look at my messages and then we usually spend time after his work and I stay out till I have to go in to my side.

So we talked and he had no intention of making me feel that way and informed me that work has just been rough and try to stay with him and continue to talk with him so we can work through things
