Have you ever been embarrassed over your past?

I’m so embarrassed that I liked the last guy that I did, he’s not that good looking, only moderately decent as a person, and isn’t even the same age as me, I don’t hate him at all, but I’m just like, “what the hell was I thinking?” Anyway, once I’m ready I’m going to look for a guy the same age as me, one better looking and more mature.

All the time lol. The most recent one was when I was in choir a few weeks ago. I have trouble sleeping so usually I only get around 3 hours a day, but a few weeks ago I haven't slept in two days. I went to my choir club and we had visitors. I forgot exactly what I was talking about, but I was explaining something to the group of people. Being tired, I said "blah blah blah, Firstdary and secondary."

They laughed after I realized what I had said and so I let my friend take over with explaining the situation. It was very embarrassing.

I look back and wonder why did I waste my time w certain people. But really I knew deep down that we had good chemistry but that was all and had to be honest w them like ur cool but we aren't on the same path and he can take it how he wants. But most guys know the reasons they may fall short or that u aren't compatible w eachother. Being dumped or ghosted or whatever sucks is general but better than being miserable and lying. Just got to let it go and move on, of course u may be embarrassed but w time it will fade and u can say u live and u learn.

Not necessarily my past as much as my family history. I am the only adult in my family without an adult criminal record. My family is the type of family that flouts the law and acts however they wish with little regard for others. Overall they are a rough bunch.

In comparison I am educated, no criminal history (shoplifted once as a teen but that really does not count), a military veteran and seeking a law enforcement profession. One of my biggest fears of dating is when the time comes to meet each others' families. My mom is ok because she has really worked on herself, but the rest of my family is so wild and not the type of family I wish to raise and I fear the very people who would raise the type of family I want may judge ME for who my family is.

I did have a period of time when I dated multiple girls over the course of a year or so. Sometimes more than one at a time and once two in one day. I probably treated them all badly or at least not as nice as I should have. I regret this and it is embarrassing to me when I look back on it especially at the time I thought I was really cool.

Yeah... I'm pretty embarrassed about most of my romantic history. One of my greatest sources of shame is that I dated a white supremacist who was addicted to hard drugs. I had no idea in the beginning but even after the red flags started popping up, I stayed with him for too long. That's how screwed up I was. As a person of color that he considered "inferior," it's pretty hard to live down.
