Both.
Women IDEALLY want a man at least six feet tall, or in the top 20% of men. (This also extends to all other things about men as well, such as looks; women want the top 20% of most handsome men as well.)
Of course, due to sheer numbers, there's not enough ideal men to go around. So women may sometimes settle for men who are "at least two inches taller than them when wearing heels," although it's not want they actually really want. So a 5'7" woman wearing high heels may settle for a short 5'10" man, but in reality, she REALLY wants a man who's 6'1" or above.
If a man is her height or shorter than her, it's a instant and automatic dealbreaker most of the time, no matter what.
So to recap...
What she REALLY truly wants :
A man taller than most other guys (6'0"-6'5", 183-196 cm).
What she'll reluctantly settle for:
A man who's far from tall, but at least a few inches taller than her (5'8"-5'11", 173-182 cm).
What she'll almost always reject:
A man her height or shorter (5'7"/170 cm and under).

+1 yIt’s usually relative to their height.
A 5’0 girl and a 6’0 girl will have different ideas on Tall.
A lot will come down to average group size etc.
yes some will have extreme ideals, however just walking around town, shows you how mixed it is, you even have tall girl with shorter guys.
Height is often not really a huge (no pun intended) problem.00 Reply

+1 yLiterally tall men. Women refer to tall men as men bigger than most men. Just cause a 5'8 is big to a 5'2 woman that doesn't mean she will refer to him as tall when she likes tall men. If women do like taller men they'll say so, but tall = legit tall

+1 yMore so taller than me but also tall enough to feel like a guard dog who can protect me. I think 5’8-6’2 is tall enough.

5’2. But i still need him to be 5’7+. Anything below that and when i stand facing the guy, it almost looks like we’re the same height oddly enough
Asker+1 y5 inch difference? That's like 15 CM
- +1 y
Remember at some point we’ll be wearing 3-6 inch heels
Asker+1 yWtf, like a guy can also wear a shoe to make himself taller then 🤣
- +1 y
Exactly lol
Asker+1 yWell if I wear shoes I'm like 5'9
- +1 y
Anything over 5’6 and under 6’4 is good to me
Asker+1 yWith or without shoes? 😂
- +1 y
I’d hope that without shoes he’s still 5’7+
Asker+1 yYou just said over 5'6
- +1 y
Yes so over 5’6 means 5’7+
Asker+1 yOh, ok. Well I'm on the border line😂.

Most women want 6'0"/183 cm minimum. They'll only say "taller than them to five-eleven" reluctantly. Most women don't actually want short-but-still-taller men. - +1 y
@MCheetah That's the point. 6'0 + ? To me it makes no fucking sense.
- +1 y
@MCheetah So most women won't date at least 25% of men for that reason? XD Really?
- +1 y
@ChooChooHaha
20% actually, and yeah. And this is just ONE requirement women have. Still gotta be in shape, handsome, successful (or at least making really good money), and confident out the ass, among other things. While women only need to possess a vagina and nothing else to make such demands. And if a man displays even the smallest signs of how unfair of f*cked up this is, he gets called an "incel" or some other BS. This is why so many men are done dealing with dating nowadays. - +1 y
@MCheetah And I don't blame the men. I really don't! Just know some of us women out there aren't like these people. It's like not dating a guy over him having more blonde hair than the girl, makes ZERO sense to me. Besides, if some female is like that, she's the dipshit, not the guy, and she's not worth it in the first place.
- +1 y
@MCheetah And to me personally, height doesn't really matter.
- +1 y
@ChooChooHaha
That's awesome to hear. I really do wish more women like you. However, most modern women are shallow about stuff like this. Height requirements, income, looks, you name it. I agree that shallow people are dipsh*s, but that's how things are and these same women will use stuff like "body positivity" to shield themselves from any criticism at all while also implying short men are inferior wastes of oxygen and should off themselves. Yeah. It's like that among most modern women.![When women say they like tall men do they mean taller than them or taller than the competition?]()
I gave up pursuing women in general because at 180, I was told I was too short for all of them. They wanted a guy 6-7 inches (15-17.5 cm) taller than them, and I was never good enough. I didn't want women determining my self worth, so I stopped pursuing them. I'm never going to grow any taller or be "good enough," so what's the point? - +1 y
@MCheetah We all have our things and whatnot, flavors, cups of tea, etc. No one should determine your self worth in that respect, who the fuck made them the arbiter? Exactly, if it were the other way around, said female would be empowered and whatnot. I'm with men on that much 110%. And don't even get me started on that description. We'll be here for HOURS. As a general rule, I'm not one to wish suicide on anyone, especially over dumbass reasons like you being under 6'0... that's beyond fucked up... males got feelings, self esteem, egos, and have mental health too. ** hug**
Let's say for a second you being under 6'0 really was THE WORST THING EVER...
How is that your fault? Why the hell would you hold it against someone? - +1 y
@MCheetah Lol, for what?

for being a person? not having a double standard? having some empathy?

5ft5 so basically anything above 5ft8 is good.
Asker+1 yWhat about 5'7
- +1 y
Not ideal but maybe if I like them
Asker+1 yMaybe means no basically.
- +1 y
Depends on his structure mostly. I'm more likely to date someone with a strong structure.
Asker+1 yTallness doesn't mean strong structure. Guy can be lean as well. I have huge shoulders even though I'm relatively short.
I don't care about height much but they mean taller than their self usually.
