What if he thinks I'm ugly?

So I've been texting every day this guy I met at school over the past two weeks, and last Friday we went to the movies. I'm introverted and shy, I didn't talk to him much (I'm better at texting), but it was a great time.

But there's a problem.

I have low self-esteem and my school gives us the option to wear a mask or not, and I still wear a mask. Actually, I'm not alone, but most of the students there don't wear it anymore. I know I'm not horrifying, but I still have very low self-esteem and even when I went to the movies, I didn't remove it. So he has never seen my face and he says he respects me and won't force me take it off, but I think I'm just deluding him.

I will have to one day or the other, and I am very afraid that he won't like me anymore. I don't know what to do

Well honestly I would not consider someone with such low self esteem dateable. Even if your completely gorgeous, people with that level of serious esteem issues suffer from some deep rooted insecurities that will playout or have negative impacts on any relationship.

This level of insecurity is probably due to some level of emotional or physical trauma you endured as a child. Are you from a single parent family or broken home, what type of male role models did you have in your life gowning up, or were your parents super controlling or over bearing? Do you consider yourself a victim of abuse?

I am not going to try to play the psychologist here, but you have to start taking some steps for yourself. I mean normal people do not live this way and a guys might seem cool with it at first but over time it will never work in any relationship. So unless you get honest with our self and really take the time to figure out what is that makes you feel this way, I would recommend you stay away from dating before you get hurt and retreat even deeper into yourself.

i think you should just go for it. 3 seconds of bravery. i used to feel the same way you do, but i got out of it. it took some work, weel at the time i thought it was work...
