Is he calling me ugly?

So I showed my pictures to one of my guy friends and he said I didn’t look like any of them. In person I do wear glasses, not much makeup and my hair is always in a pony tail. On the pictures I don’t have glasses on and I wear makeup. He says he’s not being rude and that I’m pretty but the pictures don’t look like me. I don’t necessarily think the pictures themselves look pretty either so it’s worst hearing him say that.
