Girls, Should I reach out to my ex crush?

I want to reach out to my former crush (girl) from high-school. We haven't talked in about 4 years but we recently became friends on Facebook. I was thinking about congratulating her for graduating college but I keep talking myself out of messaging her. Is it a bad idea to do it? I'm pretty anxious about it but I think I might regret it later if I don't talk to her now.

Are you sure she’s bisexual or lesbian? Because if she does swing one of those ways then I don’t see why you couldn’t go for it.
