Is it weird to ask a woman if she wants to hold hands if we haven't kissed yet?

Last time we went out she said she wants to take it slow... but made it very clear this is obviously for romantic interest, so we are at least keeping that in mind. Is that something I should try before kissing on the lips then, or what?

I would think it would be better considering holding hands is less intimate than kissing.

Probably fine, but I'd just ask her since asking consent is never a bad thing even if it's just something small like that... You never know, she could be triggered by that from past experience.
