Girls, Is it ok to go for a handshake/attempt to hold a girl's hand after just meeting her?

Hello, I was just curious whether women care or enjoy if a man attempts to break the touch barrier very early on. For example, if I am asking your name and then swiftly put my hand out, would that be weird? And I don't mean like a formal handshake, but rather just attempting to allow her to lay her hand in mine if that makes any sense, sort of like a dead fish handshake.
I have a habit of shaking someone's hand whenever I introduce myself but I wasn't sure if it was odd. Thanks.

In this Covid-19 times, a handshake is not a good idea and since over 2 years now, I do not shake hands with anyone, not even my acquaintances. This is a safety precaution that will remain in force for me for as long as it takes.

I am very conscious about my health and I have never been a fan of handshakes. You never know where people put their hands since the last time they washed them for at least 30 seconds under running water and with plenty of soap.

Also, attempting to hold one's hand is not really a good thing to do because you indicate that you want to be in control and not many people like to be a subordinate to someone that they don't know.

I would not recommend to hold someone's hand if you don't know that person. Also, etiquette dictates that the woman should put her hand out first and not a man grab a woman's hand.
