He lashed out saying that” he can’t read my mind and that he doesn’t want to see me anymore” . Did he really mean it?

I wasn’t communicating with him effectively when I asked him about our first date and he lashed out to me.

That happened on Monday. Wednesday I called him and he picked up my call right away

I called him to clear things and possibly work things out. One of the first things he said was that he wanted to call me on Monday but he noticed that I had removed him from instagram and that it was radical. He said he’s not interested and doesn’t want to try again. I don't know if he’s hurt or he’s ego is talking or just plain simply not interested.
