I think anyone that simply tells you what you do is depriving you of agency which I don't want to do. In my experience, the choice usually isn't as binary as it seems. But careers (especially when going beyond an immediate job) tend to last longer than love which is often fleeting. It's why I've always chosen career when forced into making such a choice.

If he left you without an explanation- he is not worth it. Focus on your career and where you are going to go before you try to rekindle things or find someone else. In MY opinion he is a douche (no offense) and I hope you find true love! Good luck!

If you focus on career you will most likely always have relationship issues the rest of your life. Men dont like that.
